G-Star Raw magazine
G-Star and Quincy Jones
Collaborations between blogs and brands is no longer a pioneering concept but it remains one that I frequently avoid because I do not want to fall into a cycle of opportunistic and insincere opportunities. There’s simply no excuse for weakly surrendering. I’m increasingly uncomfortable with the determined and sometimes forceful techniques of PR companies. I’m not going to write about brands and people I’m not interested in. Honestly, what would be the point? Blogging for me is about freedom and individualism. Occasionally I’ll be asked to participate in an adventure with a difference and I won’t be able to resist (but it's only happened once so far). So when G-Star contacted me to ask if I would like to “demonstrate” my vision of their clothes through pictures it was like fatal attraction and I had to say yes. There were no requirements, no marketing bullying and nothing was out of bounds. And when I received a copy of G-Star’s Raw magazine a couple of weeks ago I was reminded that sometimes it’s really good fun being a blogger.
Here are some of the pictures. Tomorrow I will show you a small video of the magazine.
A huge thank you to the truly wonderful Caroline Issa from Tank and to the extremely efficient Eva Kinsberger from G-Star.

My guilty pleasure
Captivating imagery that deserves to be seen, emotions, allegories of beauty, compositions, colours, indisputable masterpieces: it is hard to think of more potent ingredients for a fashion photography Tumblr. I started over a year ago with the traditional blog format and recently decided to create a separate entity, a prolonged study of my indubitable attraction to fashion photography. A small catalogue of all the images I find on the Internet and pore over for hours as if they will relinquish secrets. A collection of inspiration to document and illustrate some of the discussions on this blog. A display of some of my favourite fashion photographers from the ones I grew up with to the ones on the margins and those with power.
