One of the most surprising and unexpected homes for me would have to be Carine Roitfeld's: it breathes minimalism and clean lines. The look is resolutely stark and ... dare I say it ... cold. It is a little bit tough and there are no soft edges. Rather uninteresting in my opinion. The colour scheme is bland, there are no personal touches and no signs of anyone living there. I felt disappointed and almost let down. This is certainly not what I expected from a woman who has always been a significant source of inspiration.
And what's with the strange almost monolith like object in the middle of that hallway? A homage to Kubrick's Space Odyssey?

How utterly fascinating- when I first looked at the pictures I thought- 'She's posted pictures of an apartment that someone hasn't moved into yet!'
On closer inspection you can see that someone lives there, but I agree, what a cold home. Or rather space, it doesn't much look like a home to me.

I remember an interview with Carine where she said the minimalist look of their apartment was more her partner Christian Restoin's style - I can't remember what she said it would be like if it was just up to her...not so beige probably.
Lady M: I was slightly disappointed when I saw the pictures. I guess I expected a touch of colour, warmth or something ... anything ... I thought her home might reflect her style and personality! I find minimalism such a thing of the past.
Lola: That's interesting, hopefully one day she will decide to take charge of the interior decoration (not that she spends a lot of time there, she must be in her office constantly)!
taschen is fabulous, I really like their choices...and I really like this interior so quiet, white, design and easy to clean!
Hugo: I love the Taschen bookstore in Paris and particularly like their interior decoration and architecture books ... But this decor may be a little too white and cold for me.
